Samia + David
A magical celebration of two passionate individuals who have swum against the current and fought for love. Days filled with joy, play, and dancing from morning till night with their dear friends and family.
A wedding created from dreams
Samia and David's wedding was a celebration where traditions were only embraced when they made sense. The rest was created from the couple's own dreams, wishes, and shared universe. The result was a day filled with personality, aesthetics, and intimacy, where guests were not just invited, but an integral part of the story.
“It (the wedding) wasn't dictated by traditions. Only some of them. The rest were our dreams, and the guests were our playmates and travel companions.” - David to Groom magazine 2026
The day began on their cozy houseboat in Christianshavn, where the festivities kicked off. “We move – together – from place to place, from mood to mood.”
Dress code: All White & Buttermilk
The dress code was white, also known as White Sensation.
A perfect blend of glamour and late summer idyll: white, elegant, and subtly gentlemanly with a twist of beach and sun. References ranged from Gatsby to the Hamptons, from summery and festive to elegant linen and relaxed luxury.
For the gentlemen, the style was not left to chance. David himself appeared in a tailored white dinner suit, and the entire aesthetic encouraged guests to elevate their style and authenticity.
The Groom's attire
David had designed a white tie jacket (tailcoat) in a linen version with striped textured weaving. The waistcoat and trousers were in completely different weaves, but all shared striped textures.
The idea was based on the classic morning suit from the British royal setups.
The morning suit is reserved for ceremonial events, as dedicated as a wedding dress. It hits right at the heart.
Three good pieces of advice for the groom-to-be
1. Go all out
You might think some of what you're planning is too much. But you forget that magic is only created where everyday life has loosened its grip. The bride's beautiful dress, the budget — everything is too much. Just go all out.
2. Remember food and drinks for the guests
Remember to provide your guests with food and drinks. A coffee cart and croissants outside the church, or delicious, different refreshments – not necessarily alcohol. Just having a waiter in a white shirt handing out popcorn and cold drinks feels like a huge luxury, and you'll keep your bride from being hangry along the way.
3. Find your outfit early
Find your outfit early. You can support and confirm the wedding planning better than someone who hasn't delved into their own groom identity. Remember, it's one of the first things the bride does.
The Bride's vision
All guests in white. For the ladies, Samia wrote: “The wilder, the better. If you have a number 2 wedding dress from your own wedding, wear it and go all in on white magic.” - Samia to The Bride Magazine
''I like to break with traditions and I'm not a fan of rules, so it was always on the cards to turn wedding traditions upside down from the start. For me, the white theme became symbolic. It symbolized harmony, innocence, and new beginnings.''
''To see all the people who mean something to us, like little white angels, was magical. It wasn't just aesthetically beautiful, it was also simple, and I love all my wedding photos.''
A ceremony of presence
The celebration continued the next day with the ceremony in an intimate setting - a place the couple had enjoyed together many times before.
The atmosphere was characterized by magic and coziness, and guests were invited to toast the couple as they embarked on their new chapter.
