Lifehack: "Help, I'm getting married!"

Here are 3 actions that will get you ready to be a groom.

What do edible balloons and table settings have to do with the groom's mindset?

David K is a wedding veteran. He has attended more than 50 weddings and is engaged to the lovely Samia. He has helped Denmark's grooms on Go’ Morgen Danmark and dressed over 10,000 grooms at the suit temple Herrernes Magasin in Nørregade, Copenhagen. So, you can safely call him an expert in weddings, grooms, execution, and mental preparation.

Bryllup.dk asked David K to brainstorm about the groom's tasks, and the result is 3 lifehacks. David's experience is that many men find it difficult to get into the wedding mood and mentally prepare: “I’m getting married… soon.”

1. Which Groom Are You?

Try at least 3 styles and 10 jackets, and look at yourself in the mirror. Suddenly it dawns on you: "Wow, I'm getting married!" Here you can see yourself in your “ring corner” in a few months.

Heritage & garden style? Classic Bond? Studio 54? Do yourself a huge favor by trying on jackets that are a little "too much" so you see yourself as a genuine groom. It can be difficult to get that feeling in a regular blue suit.

Choose a supplier with a wide selection of both sizes and styles. Don't go into the fitting room without at least 3 different suits with you, so you avoid running around to multiple fitting rooms. Most men are not clothing specialists, and the less time we spend shopping, the better. Buy your outfit well in advance so you are clearly defined as a groom when you look at yourself in the mirror. Store it with a friend, so your curious bride doesn't look in the garment bag – she should have you as a surprise!

2. Get Off the Couch – Go to a Wedding Fair

Just spend 2 hours at a wedding fair. You'll be surprised at how many ways there are to have a wedding. Take a quick round, watch the fashion show, and delve into the exhibitors that catch your interest. Time flies, and your head will be filled with wedding ideas when you go home. You will begin to settle into your role as a groom.

Important: Try on a couple of jackets at the fair, and experience your fiancée smiling proudly and lovingly at you as you stand there looking like a groom… even in a jacket and t-shirt! Perhaps you should consider not choosing a tailor-made suit. Ready-to-wear suits make it easier to imagine how you will look on the big day. If, on the other hand, you have the patience for it, a tailor-made suit can of course also be an excellent solution.

3. The Table Trick: Set the Table for a Party

Set a table – just a couple of places – at home. When there's a wedding, the tables are really set, and soon you'll be standing there giving a speech to your friends, family, and your new bride.

Set a single place at the dining table to create a taste of the atmosphere and play a little with the possibilities. Wedding fairs are a fantastic way to get inspiration for table settings. Romance is at the center, and some of Denmark's most exclusive wedding destinations will show you how you as lovebirds can enjoy your big day.

Do yourself a favor and sit at the set tables. What does your view look like? Imagine the scene, and sit at several different tables to fully get into the wedding mood. It's not enough just to look – you have to feel it.

This structure helps make the text more readable and gives the reader a clear overview of the three actions that will prepare him for the role of groom.
