The wedding guest - one of the first things the bridal couple see on their way down the aisle

Dress up properly – you're going to a friend's biggest party.
You're going to a wedding, what many consider the coolest parties. The many glasses, the cutlery on each side of the plate. The speeches and not least the dresses. Herrernes Magasin can help you with inspiration for the wedding party and remind you that the festivity you wear on your body- affects the host's very first impression of the day, and the festivities they are on the threshold of.

A wedding is the biggest celebration of life for your friends. It's a celebration of love, friendships, family, life. There will be an opulent gift table, food and wine, and you can show off your gentlemanly table manners to your dinner companion. And of course, you'll party until the early morning. You need to be ready and sharply dressed, but what should you wear?
"I think you should go all out with your clothes. Nothing is too fancy for a wedding, and those who think about this and that thing – now it's too much: It can't be too much," says David K, owner of Herrernes Magasin and among others, advises hundreds of bridal couples, performing artists, politicians - every year.
"The challenge is to keep the festivity 'top of mind' at the moment of purchase," continues David K, who says that both groom & guest should forget everyday life. Why? Because the most successful outfit chosen is designed for celebration, and therefore detached from conservative everyday moods on random grey weekdays.

Just try to outshine the groom
If you arrive in a dark suit, white shirt, and tie, you'll probably look like at least half of the male guests. Herrernes Magasin believes that your attire should impress the hosts a little, be a sign of gratitude and anticipation that matches the bridal couple's great commitment. The groom has the world's most beautiful accessory on his arm; it's IMPOSSIBLE to outshine him, no matter what you do.
"For a wedding, you wear at least a jacket and trousers, but the strength lies in accessories. Put on a waistcoat or suspenders and give the shoes some polish. The combination of trousers, jacket, and waistcoat can be in different colours and brands, and for example, the waistcoat can deviate in fabric quality from the jacket and trousers, for instance, in a completely shiny or very coarse material. You can choose the 'board member' style, where all parts are in the same colour, or the connoisseur style, which requires a bit more commitment," explains David K.
Tailored fantastic fit, but with one huge disadvantage.
"At Herrernes Magasin, we emphasize that you have to try on the clothes to see if they work. We are experts in the field and have so many options that you won't be able to see them all, but we have something for everyone, so it's all about trying on the clothes in front of the mirror," says the fashion expert.
Tailored clothing often ends up being very classic and conservative, and that has a huge charm. You choose your suit based on physical fabric samples we have collected from the world's largest suppliers. The disadvantage is that a man's potential is rarely found from small fabric samples, but rather from his reflection in the mirror.

The guest's 2-step: Change between church and party
If you're attending a wedding at 11 o'clock and find it a bit too overwhelming, warm, or early to wear a suit in church, you can benefit from a two-outfit strategy and then change into evening wear after the reception.
"It can feel awkward if you start out in church dressed in the wildest finery. An idea could be to dress a bit more casually chic in church, so the bridal couple gets their well-deserved shine. A relaxed shirt, chinos, and a simple blazer or vest is a good and slightly understated, yet still formal and beautiful option. It can be advantageous to change into a suit later, and it's wonderful to be able to put on a fresh shirt for the party," says David K.

Get ready for the party
David K also believes that one should take a wedding as seriously as the bridal couple does, and therefore push the boundaries of festive attire.
"At dinner, the bridal couple is happy and full of expectations for the party they have planned for months, and they naturally want nothing less than the coolest, most legendary wedding bash in history. As guests, we should honor that, so we can also be as ambitious and omnipotent as possible. A waistcoat and suspenders can be an idea, because those are items you don't normally wear, and then you start hitting the spot the groom aims for with the party: It should be well-thought-out, festive, and heartfelt, and above all, involving, even after the jacket comes off at 6:30 PM," says the fashion expert.

GOOD ADVICE from David K:
What can you wear?
The Tuxedo Rule
-One rule applies: You cannot wear a tuxedo unless the host has chosen 'black tie.' If he wears a tuxedo, you may wear a tuxedo. If he wears white tie, guests can wear anything.
Give the shirt some power to play with.
-White everyday shirts are easy to match with colorful accessories. This allows you to add a bit more vibrancy to accessories. A brilliant move is to reuse your tuxedo shirt. It's simply more festive than the standard business model. Bring out the tuxedo shirt; it's great for future cocktail events too.
Should your outfit match your date's dress?
-Precisely for weddings, it's a fun idea, because a wedding is a truly well-documented event where pictures are important for the aftermath, and couples are often photographed. When photographed together, you can definitely wear something that matches a bit. It can be a challenge and slightly complicated, but the point is that you can find colors that complement each other very nicely. A detail like a yellow pocket square, for instance, goes well with a purple dress. If the woman is wearing a vibrant dress, the man will look almost boring in a navy blue suit with nothing else, so try to look for matching details.
You are welcome to bring your cool ideas from your existing suit wardrobe. From that, we can always put something together, and perhaps rediscover your joy with some of the lovely pieces you already have in your suit closet.
